WHAT IS DERMAPLANING?
Dermaplaning helps improve the appearance of uneven skin texture, dullness, and dryness while allowing your skincare products to absorb more effectively. It's also the perfect treatment for creating a smooth, flawless canvas for makeup application.
Our Dermaplaning Facial combines professional exfoliation with nourishing, hydrating skincare to leave your complexion looking healthy, glowing, and rejuvenated.
BENEFITS:
1. Instantly Smoother Skin: Removes dead skin cells and peach fuzz, leaving your skin feeling incredibly soft and silky.
2. Brighter Complexion: Helps eliminate dull surface buildup, revealing fresher, more radiant skin.
3. Improves Skin Texture: Smooths rough patches and improves the appearance of uneven skin texture.
4. Enhances Skincare Absorption: Removes surface buildup, allowing skincare products to spread more evenly and potentially improving ingredient penetration.
5. Flawless Makeup Application: Creates a smooth canvas so foundation and other makeup products apply more evenly.
6. Softens the Appearance of Fine Lines: Temporarily improves the look of superficial fine lines by smoothing the skin's surface.
7. Gentle Physical Exfoliation: Provides immediate exfoliation without using chemical acids.
8. Minimal Downtime: Most clients can return to their normal activities immediately, although mild redness or sensitivity can occur.
9. Doesn't Make Hair Grow Back Thicker: Dermaplaning does not change the thickness, colour, or growth rate of facial hair. That's a myth!
The best part? You leave with skin that looks instantly refreshed, feels incredibly smooth, and has that beautiful Myüz glow!
Professional tip: Dermaplaning is not ideal for everyone, particularly clients with active inflammatory acne, irritated skin, or a compromised skin barrier. SPF and gentle skincare are especially important afterward.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Active acne: Inflamed pustules, papules, cystic acne, or open breakouts in the treatment area.
- Active cold sores: Herpes simplex outbreaks or other contagious skin infections.
- Compromised skin barrier: Irritated, peeling, sunburned, or damaged skin.
- Active eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea flare ups: Especially when the skin is inflamed or sensitive.
- Open wounds or lesions: Cuts, abrasions, sores, or broken skin.
- Recent chemical peels or laser treatments: Skin must be fully healed before dermaplaning.
- Recent use of strong exfoliating products: Retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, or other irritating active ingredients may require a temporary pause depending on skin condition.
- Suspicious moles or raised skin lesions: These areas should be avoided and assessed by a healthcare professional if concerning.
- Recent waxing or aggressive exfoliation: Skin may be too sensitive for additional exfoliation.
- Certain medications: Oral isotretinoin or medications that increase skin fragility may require additional assessment or medical clearance.
Important: Not all contraindications mean dermaplaning must be avoided completely. Some require postponing treatment, modifying the service, or avoiding specific areas.
Please note: Dermaplaning is not recommended for clients with active inflamed acne, sunburn, open wounds, active skin infections, or a compromised skin barrier. Our estheticians will assess your skin before treatment to ensure dermaplaning is appropriate for you.
