What Is LED Light Therapy?
LED Light Therapy (LLT) uses low-wavelength LED light to improve your skin’s appearance. This includes a reduction in wrinkles, redness, scars, and acne. It is said to help heal skin, muscle tissue, and other body parts. This non-invasive treatment uses narrow bands of LED light to trigger your body’s natural cell processes to repair the skin and achieve a natural radiant glow.
Benefits of LED Light Therapy
LLT can be beneficial in many ways. It has been shown to help improve wound healing, facial texture, psoriasis, rosacea, eczema, scars, sun-damage, androgenic alopecia, and acne. Not to mention, LED light therapy also reduces the appearance of stretch marks, wrinkles, fine lines, and age spots.
In a controlled, randomized study, the subjects were treated twice a week with a Led light laser with a wavelength range of 611-650 nm. Those that were treated saw skin rejuvenation and an intradermal collagen increase. These findings support the benefits of LED light therapy.
Other conditions LED light therapy has been shown to help with include:
- Dementia
- Dental Pain
- Hair Loss
- Osteoarthritis
- Tendinitis
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
What to Expect/How to Prepare
The LED light is emitted from a light therapy panel that will be placed over your face. The gentle red and blue high-frequency waves will work to improve your skin condition as you relax.
The skin will be cleansed prior to starting and finished off with the appropriate iS Clinical Serums. Do not apply any oils or lotions within one hour of your appointment. These products can act as a barrier and will diminish the effect of the treatment.
It should be noted that LED Light Therapy cannot be performed on people with epilepsy or who are on photosensitizing medications.
You may purchase the Celluma or Omnilux through our online shop to reap the benefits of LLT at home.
