We all know that maintaining a healthy body requires exercise and nourishment. If we want our body to look a certain way we put it through an exercise routine. So if we want our skin to look at certain way, why not put the face through a workout too!
I’m not talking about expression exercises or bicep curls for your cheeks, I’m talking about a microcurrent facial. This technique is considered ‘muscular re-education’ for the face, sounds pretty advanced right? The microcurrent manipulates 32 different facial muscles via probes which transmit currents into the skin. The currents stimulate the face muscles resulting in strengthening the skin and giving a toned and lifted look.
What to expect in a Microcurrent Treatment.
During your treatment the sterilized probes will be placed directly onto your skin and moved around in gentle motions to physically move the muscles to tone, lift and sculpt the face. In every treatment, you’re getting 50% negative and 50% positive currents also called an alternating current treatment. Alternating current focuses on working with the body to make the skin luminous.
Does it hurt?
The sensation is sometimes described as prickly, or pulsating, but definitely not at all painful or uncomfortable. Just imagine the muscles doing a series of squats. I mean you can imagine that but I’m not going to because it’s definitely my least favourite exercise.
What does the Microcurrent actually do?
The natural electricity generated from the current causes activation of the muscles which stimulates the production of collagen, elastin, amino acids and ATP which, in turn, will speed up skin turnover, cell repair, promote circulation and encourage lymphatic drainage. ATP is necessary for your body to produce collagen and elastin, and production decreases as we age! The microcurrent kicks up the productivity of collagen and the elasticity of the skin, while also being antibacterial in nature, which means far fewer breakouts.
Electrical signals also promote healthy circulation, heal the skin, and promote drainage of excess fluid accumulation. It is beneficial even for those suffering from acne and rosacea. I would say this treatment is for all ages of the spectrum.
Can I Have Microcurrent Treatment If I Have Botox?
The current is a non-invasive treatment and compliment for those who do receive Botox and Filler treatments. Fillers give a quick and effective “plumping” effect, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. However, they do nothing for muscle contour, natural collagen, or elastin production — all of which are needed to maintain the face’s natural fullness and youthfulness. Over time, Botox actually causes atrophy to the facial muscles. So with the use of microcurrent the muscle will remain healthy and alive. Some women also eventually wean themselves off of injectables with the use of a microcurrent! This treatment can really slow down and even reverse the fine line and wrinkle process.
I highly recommend trying the microcurrent over botox since you will be experiencing a total facial lift rather than receiving small injections in certain areas of the face. Microcurrent can also plump up the lips!
Overall the experience is pain free, no swelling or downtime and best of all after one treatment you’ll see a reduction in facial aging.
Should Anyone Avoid Microcurrent?
There are three cases in which I would recommend someone avoid electrical currents. One, if you have any implanted devices like hearing aids or pacemakers. Two, if you have epilepsy or a history of seizures. And three, if you are pregnant, just to be safe!
How Can I achieve the results at home?
We have a beautiful product that is exclusive to Myüz, The Pure Lift. We strive to find the best tools that provide results and this has met our expectations. Most at home microcurrent devices only provide one current, a Galvanic, that only targets the top layer, meaning it will only penetrate the skincare products. Pure Lift contains triple wave technology and reaches the dermis!
PureLift Face uses its patented Triple-Wave Technology, the first wave (low frequency) has an anesthetic effect, the second wave (mid frequency) works in the dermis layer, and the third wave (high frequency) reaches deep to the facial muscles. The pulses are randomized, which means the muscles can never adapt-they have to keep working, which is what brings you results.
The secret of PureLift is that it uses the Triple Wave Patented EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) technology. The Triple-Wave Technology contain a first wave (low frequency) has an anesthetic effect, the second wave (mid frequency) works in the dermis layer, and the third wave (high frequency) reaches deep to the facial muscles.
The name Triple Wave comes from the fact that the patented technology releases random, alternating waves of current, which differ in length, strength and intensity so as to avoid the body’s adaptation to a simple, monotonous stimulus, rendering the device and treatment useless. The pulses are randomized from 1360-1740 Hertz, which means the muscles can never adapt the frequency and will continue to work since the muscle wont adapt or accommodate to the. Stimulus —It is like changing your gym-routine daily!
How Can I Get Microcurrent Done with Tina?!
By this point, I assume you’re dying to know. This treatment will be performed with the Fire and Ice facial by IS Clinical. During the 75 minute facial you will enjoy a cleansing, a resurfacing masque, microcurrent treatment, intensive hydrating masque, light exfoliation and LED light therapy, followed by serum and moisturizer customized for your skin needs.
Ten treatments, once/twice a week will take years off of your appearance.
Keep in mind, it’s always going to be temporary - just like exercise. Once you stop taking care of your skin it will stop looking as healthy. It’s different for every body but most results last from two days to a week.
I understand that for many, this is not feasible because of the expense. In which case I recommend doing 2 to 3 sessions close together, and then get on a really good, efficacious skin care routine or keep up with at home care using the Pure Lift.
We do use the Pure Lift in all of our services as an add on treatment while Tina uses a different machine for her treatments.
