The Biologique Recherche - Lotion P50T vs Lotion P50 PIGM 400 – Myuz Artistry

If you’ve been doing any of your own research on the Biologique Recherche line (my current obsession) I’m sure you’ve gotten stuck with the question, “Okay, but what is right for me?!”. If you’re comparing ingredients you’ll see a lot of overlap but it’s those little differences that set the products apart.

Lotion P50T

First let’s dive into P50T. P50T is designed to improve the effectiveness of all other Biologique Recherché products and is the cornerstone of any BR regime! This product removes dead skin cells on a daily basis, helping to keep your skin smoother and softer and also stimulates cellular renewal and enhances epidermal renewal. As if that wasn’t amazing enough p50T helps to purify and regulate oil secretions on our skin’s surface. This ensures that oil buildup does not trap debris below the surface of the skin, which is one of the causes of breakouts.

P50T and Excess Oil

Pimples can be caused by excess oil, which is made by the sebaceous glands that are found around hair follicles. When too much sebum and dead skin cells clog the follicles, they become irritated and inflamed, resulting in pimples, whiteheads and/or blackheads. The exfoliating properties of P50T help to reduce this process.

It might seem contradictory because p50T is removing oils but it still helps to moisturize.

It does this by locking in existing moisture to prevent our skin from becoming dehydrated. It also helps to balance the pH in the skin. For skin to work its best, the acid mantle should be slightly acidic, at 5.5 pH balance. When skin is too alkaline it becomes dry and sensitive, and can potentially cause eczema. When skin has the proper pH balance and is not too dry or too oily, so it can better absorb antioxidants and other anti-aging ingredients, as well as ward off acne. Because of these properties, daily use of P50T is vital to keeping our skin looking younger and healthy.

P50T for Men

P50T is very beneficial for men as well. It helps to treat and prevent ingrown hairs, leaving a clearer complexion. Its exfoliating properties remove the buildup of dead skin that trap ingrown hairs below the surface of the skin. I recommend regular use morning and night!

My Favorite P50T Ingredients:

Cider vinegar, which contains citric acid and malic acids. Theses acids have excellent purifying and astringent properties.
Beta-hydroxy acids and salicylic acid, which help to reduce inflammation and penetrate pores easily in order to dissolve dead cells that can cause obstructions in our pores.
Niacinamide, which helps to reduce irritation and redness and is excellent for healing. Niacinamide will also help to fade skin pigmentation.
Finally P50T seals in moisture with the use of Arnica and Natural Moisturizing Factors, creating naturally hydrated skin.

Lotion P50 PIGM 400

Okay I feel like I wrote a novel about P50T, you’re probably wondering when the info about P50 PIGM 400 is coming in. Well it’s kinda simple, the lotion P50 PIGM 400 has all the benefits of P50T as well as the added benefit of helping to reduce hyper-pigmentation and dark spots. This is due to a high concentration of one of my favourite ingredients listed above, Niacinamide. We have seen significant reduction in pigmentation on people using this product. It unifies and brightens the complexion thanks to its concentrated active ingredients. In order to maintain your skin and get the best results in the use of P50 PIGM 400, sunscreen is a must. This product, when combined with Creme or Serum PIGM 400, gives amazing results for those dealing with pigmentation.

So what’s the best choice for you?

If you are using any other BR products, p50T is a must and you’d pair it with another moisturizer. If you are also dealing with pigmentation or dark spots then you can ditch the p50T and instead include p50 PIGM 400 to cover your bases. No need to use P50T and p50 PIGM 400 together.

How to introduce the “Jesus in a bottle” into your routine?

For starters, do not use with any other acids or retinol (cannot be used in the same regimen).
P = peeling 50= 50 days.

That is how long it takes for the skin to adjust. I will warn you, you might experience breakouts/whiteheads. It is completely normal. Please continue to use. The results will be amazing and definitely worth it!
When the epidermis is unbalanced, patients feel the acidity of the solution, causing the skin-tingling sensation. Once you reach a balance, this sensation will disappear.
You cannot go full force into this magical potion. Dilute the a cotton pad with water for a few weeks (if you are new to acids, I suggest diluting it for 3 weeks) AM/PM. In the 4th week use it without dilution using it PM only. Eventually you will want to try to use it AM/PM.
Listen to your skin and decide if it should be used on the daily and twice a day. Your skin may not be able to handle too much of it.
Apply in patting and pushing motions into the pores.
Don’t forget to go up the neck.
Please, please, I beg you, apply SPF.
If you have rosacea, do not apply on the area.
